Virtual Think Tank (VTT) session dedicated to “Gene Editing as rare disease therapy – main challenges and alternatives”
On 29th September 2020 it was held
remotely the LYSOCIL Virtual Think Tank (VTT) on “Gene Editing as rare disease
therapy – main challenges and alternatives” with 18 participants. Vasco Barreto
from CEDOC-NMS I FCM kicked off the meeting with a presentation on fundamentals
of the methodologies used, mainly CRISPR-Cas9 and the main ongoing clinical
trials. Miguel Seabra from CEDOC-NMS I FCM moderated this session that was focused on: clinical
trials, ethical and technical challenges, side effects and
alternatives to gene editing as rare disease therapy.
LIG session dedicated to "Deciphering the molecular mechanisms of skin pigmentation"
On 25th September 2020 it was held via Zoom, a LIG session dedicated to "Deciphering the molecular mechanisms of skin pigmentation" and it was presented by Duarte Barral, Coordinator of the LYSOCIL project and researcher at CEDOC-NMS I FCM.

On 18th September 2020 (via Zoom) it was held a LIG Session presented by Sara Pestana, PhD student from Susana Lopes group (CEDOC-NMS I FCM) and it was dedicated to "The Extracellular Vesicles in the zebrafish left-right axis development".
